Prenatal screening

CGC Genetics introduced Prenatal Screening in Portugal in 1992 and ever since it has been a leader in the field.

CGC Genetics was the first laboratory in Portugal to develop the 1^st trimester screening, the first to apply the blood collection method by finger prick and the first to implement Early Prenatal Screening.

Over 19 000 samples are processed per year in this lab.

    Chief laboratory officer, since 2008.

    Specialist in Human Genetics by the Portuguese Association of Biologists, with over 21 years of experience in human cytogenetics.

    Director of Cytogenetic Laboratory, managing the different methodologies developed in this lab: Array CGH, FISH and classical cytogenetic.

    Directing the Prenatal Screening Laboratory of CGC Genetics, the leader lab in the implementation of Prenatal Screening in Portugal and in the innovation in this field (dry blood spot and early screening).

    Since 2004, she is also the Quality and Innovation Manager of CGC Genetics.
