The event will take place on Thursday, April 1st, 2010 starting at 9:30 a.m. with the official ribbon cutting ceremony to be conducted by Mayor Cory A. Booker. The Grand opening marks CGC Genetics choosing Newark, New Jersey as its US base.

CGC Genetics is a 18-year-old international company that has developed and offers a broad menu of over 1,500 clinical genetic laboratory tests, including a new series of low-cost diagnostic panels (patent pending). With a rigorous quality policy and capacity for the development of new diagnostic technology, the company’s CLIA laboratories offer tests in the area of Molecular Diagnostics, Cytogenetics, Prenatal/Pediatric Screening and Cancer, and Personalised Medicine.
In 2009, CGC established an affiliation agreement with the Institute of Genomic Medicine (IGM), a component of the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) in Newark, one of eight public schools within the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). IGM has core facilities with significant capacity for R&D, operates CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited clinical testing laboratories.
In the area of genetic diagnostics, CGC and IGM share complementary technologies, a comprehensive broad menu of clinical tests that cover almost every genetic test available and a significant R&D infrastructure ensuring the rapid development and availability of new tests to CGC clients and partners.
